Selling molds or castings takes Pro
In short: when you need a subscription, who doesn't, and what to do after cancelling.
Selling takes Pro
Casting molds, silicone molds and anything made in them are sold with an active Pro or Studio subscription. Free and Plus are for personal use.
For as long as you sell
The subscription has to be active while the item is on sale: from the moment it is listed to the last piece sold.
Subscription ends, sales end
Without an active subscription items are neither sold nor offered — new ones or ones made earlier.
Common cases
- No subscription needed
I cast for myself and as gifts
Free or Plus is enough: models are for personal use. You can give a casting away, not sell it.
- Pro needed
I sell castings from the mold
Soap, candles, plaster, concrete, resin — anything cast in a mold made with Printmold.
- Pro needed
I sell the mold itself
A printed mold, a silicone mold poured in our formwork, a ready casting kit.
- Pro needed
Listed it, haven't sold yet
A marketplace listing, a post with a price, an offer in DMs — that already counts as selling. The subscription is needed from the first time a buyer sees it.
- No subscription needed
No printer — I order the mold printed
Whoever prints the mold for you doesn't buy anything. You need the subscription if you sell the molds or castings from them.
- Pro needed
I'm on Plus
Plus raises the limits but doesn't grant the right to sell, and the mark stays on models. Selling takes Pro or Studio.
If you cancel
Cancelling turns off renewal: you can keep selling until the paid period ends. Once it has, stop all sales and attempts to sell — take listings down from shops and marketplaces, remove prices from posts, accept no new orders.
This includes what was printed and cast earlier. Downloaded files stay with you — for personal use.
